A knitalong project with the Ample Knitters eGroup. The pattern was from Brown Sheep and painstakingly resized for the Amplistas. I knit this in a heather worsted wool from Elann.com's Peruvian Collection.

High Mesa stitch detail
I tried to find suitable southwestern buttons, but settled for these handcrafted, vintage, wood buttons. The horseshoe shape complements the reverse carry over stitches.
Stitching detail at hem and cuff
The sweater is not orange! The color is a beautiful harvest red: rust with flecks of gold and red. I love heathers!
